Northumberland is a wonderful county, known for its numerous castles, beautiful islands, wildlife, stunning countryside and characterful villages.
Because of this, Northumberland has won numerous awards, often rivalling its neighbouring counties so we thought we would celebrate these achievements highlighting why Northumberland is such a great place to live and visit.

Micah’s tearooms in Oldgate, near Morpeth won the ‘Most Welcoming Tearoom’ in the prestigious North of England 2024 SME Enterprise award.
Northumberland won prizes in the gold, silver and bronze categories for Pub of the Year in the North Easts Tourism Awards, beating other counties hands down!

Bamburgh Beach has been awarded the best seaside destination in the UK for the fourth year running in the annual Which? Survey. The award includes the quality of the beaches, food and drink on offer, tourist attractions and value for money.

It was a repeat of 12 months ago when they received success for their Grey Seals and Seabirds Cruise, a feat not replicated in over 25 years of the awards’ history.
